GE9X Commercial Aircraft Engine
A Look Inside the World’s Next Great Engine
When GE put the components of its new GE9X engine to the test, Kitestring was there to capture every moment.
Making every component count
A world-leading producer of jet engines, GE Aviation has more than a century of experience in powering flight. Starting in 2015, GE Aviation added fuel to its legacy of innovation with the development of its new GE9X engine, which was being built to power the all-new Boeing 777X. But before this project could truly take off, all the engine components needed to undergo extensive testing at GE locations around the globe.
Kitestring visually documented the testing of each component as it passed through
GE’s state-of-the-art facilities. The journey took Kitestring to Seattle and Ohio, in the U.S., and to Milan, Massa and Turin, in Italy. The process allowed us to showcase GE Aviation’s commitment to reliability. It also gave us unique insights into the complex engineering, materials and technologies needed to make such an advanced engine.
